FCS Family Economics

Teaching individuals and families skills for resource management and for building and protecting wealth over the life cycle. A series of Financial Solutions classes are available to help families learn the principles of saving and investing. School age youth may engage in saving through the Piggy Bank Pageant activity.

FCS Nutrition and Food Safety

Empowering Tennesseans to manage their health and health-care and live, work, and learn in safe and healthy environments. Workplace Wellness programs are offered to encourage employees to adopt a healthy lifestyle.
The art and science of food preservation is offered though classes as the concern for safe and economical food increases.
The (TNCEP) Tennessee Nutrition and Consumer Education Program targets low income families with programs on nutritious meal planning and maximizing their resources effectively.
The (EFNEP) Expanded Food & Nutrition Education Program focus is on helping children and families engage in community gardening as well as planning and preparing nutritious meals.

Empowering Tennesseans to manage their health and health-care and live, work, and learn in safe and healthy environments. A safe and healthy home can be attained through radon detection kits, providing education from poisons and a lead free environment for children.
Tai Chi for health is an increasingly popular exercise for general well-being as well as balance, flexability and mental clarity. Classes are offered periodically throughout the year.
