4-H offers many camping opportunities through local day camps as well as state & regional overnight camps. Below is more information about each camping opportunity, for additional information, please call (615) 898-7710.

4-H Jr High Camp

4-H Jr. High Camp is for older youth who have completed grades 6-8. This resident camp offers adventure-type and active-engaged programming with an emphasis on individual development and group dynamics through special interest groups and team challenges. Activities may include fishing, tubing, nature hikes, canoeing, swimming, shooting sports, T-shirt airbrushing, survivor challenges, and more!. Crossville, TN

4-H Junior Camp

4-H Junior Camp is for youth who have completed grades 4-6. This five-day resident camp offers excellent youth programing. Activities include swimming, shooting sports, group sports and recreation, nature hikes, woodworking, T-shirt airbrushing, crafts, skits, music and more! W.P. Ridley 4-H Center in Columbia, TN.

4th-6th grades

Dates: June 8-June 12, 2026

Cost: $400 (includes transportation and t-shirt)

4-H Pioneer Camp

Campers will stay in a rustic setting and participate in kayaking, shooting sports, survival skills, creek stomping, axe throwing, campfire cooking, outdoor fun and adventure! There will also be an off-site field trip fishing or swimming in the Collins River and experience a giant waterslide!

7th – 9th grades

Where: Camp Woodlee in Warren County, TN

Dates: June 30- July 3, 2026

Cost: $185 (does not include transportation)

4-H Electric Camp

4-H Electric Camp is a fun-filled, rewarding adventure in electricity. At camp, you will learn what electricity is and how it works. You will work with electrical specialists from across the state in learning centers. Each learning center will consist of hands-on activities so that you can learn by doing, including robotics, energy conservation, electric vehicles and last but not least, blowing up stuff! You will also have the chance to meet other 4-H’ers from across Tennessee and explore careers in energy, electricity and basic sciences. Each camper will receive a certificate, a T-shirt and items that you have made at camp. It’s really an electrifying experience!

Middle Tennessee Electric may provide scholarships to attend Electric Camp, to apply for this scholarship, complete the application and return it to rvictor@utk.edu by May 1st.

4-H Culinary Camp

Students will learn basic cooking skills and try new recipes. Due to the popularity of the camp, we are only able to take 2 campers from Rutherford County, so we will have an essay contest. If your child wants to attend, email the essay by March 30th to: Raquel Victor at rvictor@utk.edu —– essay application

6th – 8th grades​

4-H Target Smart Camp

4-H Target Smart Camp develops firearms safety, responsibility and life skills. Campers do not need shooting experience prior to attending camp.  Campers will get to experience all disciplines through a rotation of Shotgun, Muzzle Loader, Archery, and Rifle stations throughout the week. Also, we plan to try to incorporate some evening hunting skills as well.

5th – 9th grades

When: May 25-29, 2026

Where: Clyde York 4-H Center in Crossville

Cost: $385 (does not include transportation)

Junior High Academic Conference

As a participant, you will be involved in educational programming on the campus of UT in Knoxville and receive hands-on training in project areas under supervision of university scientists and specialists. The conference will provide a variety of rewarding and fun-filled experiences including classroom, outdoor, and laboratory settings! A little bit of fun will be mixed in for delegates, along with a Graduation Banquet. Students will be put into a project area of their interest.

6th – 8th grades

When: June 9-12, 2026

Southern Region Teen Leadership Conference

The Southern Region Teen Leadership Conference (SRTLC) is a multistate 4-H event designed to empower and inspire youth and adults to create positive change through strong youth-adult partnerships. Developed by 4-H members, the conference strengthens leadership skills and fosters meaningful connections among teens across the southern United States. Each year, more than 400 participants come together to share about their states and 4-H programs, build leadership capacity, and explore ways to work collaboratively in their communities.

8th – 12th grades

When: September 18-21, 2026

FCS Behind the Scenes

FCS Behind the Scenes will travel to Savannah, Georgia, June 23rd–26th, 2026, to explore design-focused career pathways, including interior design, architecture, art, culinary arts, and more. This event is for teens in 9th–12th grade. Participants will connect with SCAD, take part in architecture and design tours, explore the city through guided walking experiences, and engage in a variety of hands-on and immersive FCS learning opportunities.
