The Rutherford County Quilt Trail Committee, on occasion, will host a tour around Rutherford County to view the wonderful quilt displays.
The tour will visit several historic farms and locations in Rutherford County where “barn blocks” (painted quilt patterns) have been hung for all to see. These large painted quilt blocks have been painted by Riverdale High School Art Department Students under the leadership of teacher, Carrie Perkins and with the assistance of local artist, Billie Jean Summers.
The designs are often old family quilt patterns, thus preserving both a historical and sentimental value for the farm families in the area.
Besides local farms there will be stops along the way with walks reasonable in length.
