Vegetable Garden Bootcamp for Beginning Gardeners – THIS CLASS IS FULL

This bootcamp will be on Thursday evening from 6:00 – 7:30pm March 14th, 21st, 28th, April 4th, &11th.
Lane Agri-Park Livestock Show Arena & Outside Garden Area, 315 John R. Rice Blvd, Murfreesboro.
This free 5-session series will teach beginning gardeners the basics of growing a home vegetable garden. The first three sessions will focus on classroom instruction while the final two sessions will be hands-on in the dirt as articipants plant a garden onsite. Participants will have the opportunity to help tend the garden through the spring and summer until harvest if they desire. Because of the intensive nature of this series, class size will be limited to 20 participants. This training is for beginning gardeners, not folks who already have experience growing a garden.

Free Pruning Workshop

Come learn proper pruning essentials and prune like a pro this session!

Grass Masters Lawn Care Academy

This course is annually offered aimed at homeowners and others who are actively involved in the management of their home lawn.  

These sessions are scheduled for Thursday Nights starting August 15th, 2024 at the Lane Agri-Park Auditorium (Main Bldg), 315 John R. Rice Blvd in Murfreesboro.

There’s a really good chance you’ll learn way more than you bargained for about lawncare if you complete this lawncare course. You’ll learn about the different kinds of turfgrasses you can grow and how to manage them, options for establishing a new lawn, renovation tips for existing lawns, weed control, and fertilization.

Rutherford County Farmers Market Educational Series

  Every Tuesday and Friday during the Farmers Market we will have FREE mini-classes on a variety of horticultural and other topics and interests.  These lively and fun classes will usually start at 9:00am and will be held in the Community Center Class Room.  The Community Center is the building where the Farmers Market is held.  Come to one…come to them all, you are sure to learn something new!  For a list of programs click on the Farmers Market tab above.     Garden Basic Class    This course is designed for beginner or intermediate gardeners who wish to learn or to improve their skills. Ten topics are covered in five days. Classes usually last about three hours on the most common horticultural issues of the season. Classes are taught by certified Master Gardeners.
