Most animal feeds come with a tag which lists feed ingredients and guaranteed nutrient analysis. Unfortunately, hay does not come with such a tag unless it is tested. Forages and dried forages (hay) are the foundation of horse, cattle, and small ruminant diets and it makes sense to know the nutrient analysis of hay. Save money and maximize animal performance by knowing the nutrient analysis of the hay, matching it to animal requirements, and only supplementing when needed.
